CHESTER,WV- How many people have dreamt about facing down the boss in a contest…..and emerging victorious? A unique poker tournament at Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort’s River Poker Room will provide the opportunity to “Beat the Boss”. Jack Sours, president and general manager of Mountaineer, will play Texas Hold’em poker against nine players who will each receive $2,500 in non-valued chips. Sours will play with $2,500 in cash-valued chips. Any cash-valued chips won from “The Boss” by the player will be his/hers to keep.

The first tournament with Sours will be held Friday, July 10 and continue each Friday in July. In order to be eligible for a chance to participate in that tournament, however, players must play live Texas Hold’em games for a minimum of 10 hours beginning at 9 p.m., the preceding Friday and continuing through 5 p.m. on the day of the Tournament. The qualifying period for the first tournament begins July 3 rd at 9.p.m.

Every qualified player is eligible for one entry into the drawing at 6:30 p.m. the day of the tournament for every ten hours played during the qualifying period. The entrants will claim their entries during the registration period and enter their ticket into a drum. Nine players will be selected and will sit down to face Sours and test their skill to “Beat the Boss” at 7 p.m.

The game will be played for a maximum of two hours beginning at or until the Boss has lost all his cash- valued chips to the eligible players at the table. For further information on “Beat the Boss” contact the River Poker Room at 304-387-8433.
