CHESTER,WV – Two superstars who epitomized the 1960’s decade in song and movies will appear in concert at Mountaineer Casino Racetrack and Resort. Frankie Avalon and Frankie Valli will perform in THE HARV on August 4.
Avalon emerged as a singer and actor in the post-Elvis era. His hit the charts in 1959 with TEACH ME TONIGHT with VENUS and WHY capturing the #1 spot that same year. While his first movie roles were in THE ALAMO and VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA, Avalon earned enduring fame opposite Annette Funicello in a series of teen-oriented musical comedies beginning with BEACH PARTY and continuing with sequels MUSCLE BEACH PARTY, BIKINI BEACH and BEACH BLANKET BINGO. As a symbol of his era, Avalon appeared in the 1950’s-themed musical GREASE.

VALLI began his career in 1956 with YOU’RE THE APPLE OF MY EYE. With one of the most distinctive voices in Rock’ n Roll, he amassed an incredible number of top hits including BIG GIRLS DON’T CRY, SHERRY, WALK LIKE A MAN and CANDY GIRL. With a three-and-a-half octave range that glides effortlessly into a spectacular falsetto, Valli sold more than a million records.

Most recently Valli is also known playing “Rusty Millio” in the hit TV series, THE SOPRANOS.

The concert begins at 8 p.m.Ticket prices are $60 – Gold, $40 – Single, and $20- General Admissions. Tickets can be obtained through all Ticketmaster locations or on site at Mountaineer at the Roarin’ 20s Frequent Player Department.
