MOUNTAINEER FUTURES 2004 RECIPIENTS NAMED
Three graduating seniors from Hancock County high school were recently awarded
Mountaineer Futures Scholarships. Thomas Grossi of Weir High, Kristen Mato
of Madonna and Marcy Maple of Oak Glen were named 2004 scholarship awardees.
Grossi,
son of Thomas Grossi of 146 Powers Road, Weirton, and the late Lisa Grossi
will attend West Virginia University and pursue a degree in Business.
Mato,
daughter of Douglas and Marlene Mato of 138 Marsha Street, Weirton, will
attend West Liberty State College and pursue a degree in travel
and tourism.
Maple,
daughter of Mark and Connie Maple of RD #3, NewCumberland, will attend Wheeling
Jesuit University and pursue a degree in Business. Recipients of the
scholarship receive $1,000 per year for each year of undergraduate study
and summer employment at Mountaineer in their field of study.
Upon graduation
the student has the option of pursuing a career at Mountaineer through full-time
career opportunities. Two past scholarship recipients, Holly Robinson and
Andre’ Barnebei,
have completed their undergraduate programs and are now employed in their
field of study at Mountaineer. Robinson graduated from Marshall
University and is
employed in the MIS department. Barnebei graduated from Washington & Jefferson
and is employed in the Human Resource Department.
Scholarship recipients currently
completing their degrees and participating in the program include the following:
2003 – David Cippoletti, Marisa
Mato and Susan Cashdollar; 2002 – Janelle Moskal and Hillary Norman;
2001 – Kayla Jenkins, Tom Runkel and Ginger Robinson; 2000 - Zachary
Zarnoch. |
