CHESTER,WV- A weeklong Independence Day celebration at Mountaineer Casino Racetrack and Resort will contain all the ingredients
for an action-packed week close to home.
The “Proud to
be an American Week” will feature
a death defying jump by Kaptain Robbie Knievel, an American
Title Fight featuring Verquan Kimbrough, a concert by AMERICA
and the excitement of live thoroughbred racing. Rounding
out the week’s entertainment options will be an All
American 2 Wheel Weekend show for motorcycle and ATV enthusiasts
at
THE HARV along with t-shirt giveaways and opportunities to
win cash prizes.
The activities will include the following: JULY 4TH
Live thoroughbred racing featuring the Coca Cola Independence Day Handicap – 7
p.m.
Coca Cola t-shirt giveaway starting at 6 p.m. at the Trackside Grandstand area
(2,500 shirts to be given away while supplies last)
JULY 5
Live thoroughbred racing – 7 p.m.
T-shirt giveaway starting @ 6 p.m. at the Trackside Grandstand area (500 shirts
to be given away while supplies last)
JULY 6
Live thoroughbred racing – 7 p.m.
Proud to Be An American t-shirt giveaway starting at 9 a.m. in the Lighthouse
Lounge (2,500 shirts to be given away while supplies last.)
JULY 7
American title fight featuring Aliquippa’s Verquan Kimbrough
(6-0, 3 KOs) vs. Garvin Crout (11-7-1, 6 KOs) of Ypsilanti,
Michigan. Slated for the Grande Ballroom, the boxing card gets
underway at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are
$60 – Gold, $40 – Reserved and $20 – General
Admission and available through all Ticketmaster locations
or on site at Mountaineer’s Roarin 20’s Players
Club.
JULY 8
Kaptain Robbie Knievel, son of famed daredevil Evil Knievel,
will make a perilous 150-foot jump over two starting gates
outside THE HARV at 7 p.m.
“$5,000 Proud to be an American” cash giveaway. $500 will be given
away every 20 minutes from 7:40 p.m. – 10 p.m. with one $1,000 winner
drawn at 10:20 p.m.
Proud to be An American t-shirt giveaway starting at 7:30 p.m. in the Lighthouse
Lounge (2,000 shirts to be given away while supplies last)
JULY 9
Live thoroughbred racing – 7 p.m.
AMERICA, popular folk-rock act of the early 70’s, will
appear in concert at 8 p.m. in Mountaineer’s Grande Ballroom.
Tickets are $25 - Gold and $15 – Reserved and are available
through all Ticketmaster locations or on site at Mountaineer’s
Roarin’ 20’s Players Club.
JULY 10 AND 11
“All American 2-wheel Weekend” featuring hundreds
of custom motorcycles and ATVs at THE HARV on July 10 and 11
from 10
a.m. to 7 p.m. Robbie Knievel will on hand to sign autographs
at the event.
