CHESTER, WV - Jeff Foxworthy, the comedian whose definitions
of a “redneck” tickled the funny bones of the American
public and made him one of the popular performing artists in
America, comes to Mountaineer Casino Racetrack and Resort
on September 18. Bill Engvall, the comedian whose “Here’s
Your Sign” album achieved Platinum status, joins Foxworthy
in show, slated 7:30 p.m. at THE HARV.
Foxworthy, the largest selling comedy-recording artist in
history, is a multiple Grammy Award-nominee and best selling
author of 11 books. Widely known for his redneck jokes, his
act goes well beyond that to explore the humor in everyday
family interactions and human nature, a style that has been
compared to Mark Twain’s.
With comedy recordings that have tallied sales of over 13
million units, Foxworthy’s first CD, “You Might
Be a Redneck If…” has been registered triple platinum
status, the only time a comedy CD has surpassed this mark.
It also has become the largest selling comedy recording of
all time.
Foxworthy hosts “The Jeff Foxworthy Countdown,” a
weekly syndicated three-hour radio show that brings country
music fans the current Top 25 country hits. The show is carried
in over 210 markets across the United States with Foxworthy
receiving a CMA nomination in 2001 for Broadcast Personality
of the Year for the popular show.
