MTR GAMING GROUP ANNOUNCES OPENING OF CARD ROOM AT RUNNING ACES
With 50 Tables of Poker, BlackJack and Casino Card Games
CHESTER, WV – July 3, 2008– MTR Gaming Group, Inc. (NasdaqGS:MNTG) today announced that a 50-table card room opened on Monday, June 30, 2008 at Running Aces Harness Park in Minnesota. MTR holds 50 percent interest in Running Aces.
Open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, the Running Aces card room features 25 poker and 25 casino card game tables where guests can enjoy Texas Hold-’em, Omaha and 7-card stud, as well as blackjack, Fortune Pai Gow Poker, Ultimate Texas Hold ’em, 3-card poker and 4-card poker.
Running Aces Harness Park, which opened April 11, 2008 with live harness racing and pari-mutuel betting, is strategically located on a 165-acre site in Anoka County, Columbus Township, approximately 30 miles north of downtown Minneapolis and 40 miles from the Mall of America. The 5/8-mile track is Minnesota’s first harness racetrack and only the second racetrack permitted by law in the Minneapolis metropolitan area. Running Aces also offers year-round simulcast wagering on all breeds of horse races, in addition to a full service restaurant and bar. Minnesota law required Running Aces to host 50 days of harness racing prior to opening the card room.
