MTR GAMING GROUP TO COMMENCE POKER AT Mountaineer Casino Racetrack and Resort OCTOBER 19

CHESTER, WV – October 18, 2007 – MTR Gaming Group, Inc. (NasdaqGS:MNTG) today announced that it will open 37 poker tables at Mountaineer Casino Racetrack and Resort on October 19.  Additionally, MTR plans to introduce 50 table games at Mountaineer around January 1, 2008.  The poker tables are located at the facility’s trackside Grandstand, and the table games will be located in the Grandstand as well as in the casino at the Lodge.

(Ted) Arneault, CEO of MTR Gaming Group, stated, “We are very pleased to be expanding the entertainment offering at Mountaineer for our existing and new customers.  We also believe poker and table games will improve Mountaineer’s overall competitive position and enhance Hancock County’s development as a destination resort area.”

MTR hosted a charity event featuring Texas Hold ‘em Poker on October 15 and 16, benefiting The Weirton Area United Way, New Cumberland United Church Social Service and the Upper Hancock United Fund.
