AND YEAR-END FINANCIAL RESULTS NEWS RELEASE AND CONFERENCE

CHESTER, WV – May 3, 2005 – MTR Gaming Group,
Inc. (Nasdaq National Market:MNTG) today announced that
it will issue its financial results for the first quarter
ended March 31, 2005 on Monday, May 9, 2005 before the stock
market opens. Edson R. (Ted) Arneault, President and CEO,
John W. Bittner, Jr., CFO, David R. Hughes, COO of the Company’s
Mountaineer Park, Inc. subsidiary, and Roger M. Szepelak,
COO of the Company’s Nevada subsidiaries, will conduct
a conference call focusing on the financial results and
recent corporate developments at 10:00 a.m. ET on Monday,
May 9, 2005. Interested parties may participate in the call
